la biblioteca
19 September 2005 |
A couple Saturdays ago, Rama and I went to the library. I hadn't been in so long that I'd forgotten how fun it could be. We split up in books on tape. He headed to the graphic novels, and I went to poetry. Just 15 minutes later, we found each other at the computer stations, both of us with a stack of books. It was the beginning, I hope, of a tradition, although Rama says we have to go at least twice before we can call it that.

I work at the library which makes it difficult to go and browse there. :( But I do remember how much I loved it when I was a patron & when I used to have the job of shelving books. sammi | November 1, 2005 07:55 PM |

I keep meaning to go to the library - I used to go there in graduate school and check out stacks of books on all kinds of crazy subjects. It is the greatest thing - borrowing books. Swirly | September 21, 2005 02:12 PM |

When I was first married, my husband and I were so poor, we literally could not even afford to rent one movie a month. The public library became our haven. We, too, would spend hours there. I would check out Martha Stewart Living magazines to my heart's content, Derek would scrounge for his favorite Robert Jordan fantasy books, and we would "rent" all the videos we could. Needless to say, we learned a lot that year about Ancient Egypt, Stonehenge, the Rainforest, and the African Savannah from all the National Geographic films that we borrowed! lisa | September 21, 2005 09:39 AM |

I could live at the library. Even though I have a ton of books at home I need to read, I always find myself at the library wandering and hoping to find a new discovery. Feisty | September 20, 2005 08:41 AM |
